Class Description
Our Dance & Performance Class for 3-5 year old dancers is a survey style class designed to expose kids to a variety of dance styles. SImilar to our 2-4 year old classes, these D&P classes follow the same monthly curriculum and rotate through the same styles. The biggest difference is this class becomes a dancers only class. Parents are only allowed to watch from our lobby area. If your dancer is not quite ready to break away from you yet, we recommend the 2-4 year old classes. Most 3 year olds, especially those that attend preschool do great in the 3-5 year old classes.
Each D&P class will focus on one style from Jan-June, and July-Dec. Each period will end with an optional performance that your dancer can participate in. Ballet, Tap, Jazz, Hip Hop, and Musical Theatre are all covered in these classes. We also continue to emphasize age appropriate motor skills and creative dance. Skills explored change each month and include balance, moving in space vs moving in place, moving fast vs moving at regular speed, crossing the midline, exposure to various types of music, and much more.
